Recognizing that innovation often comes from employees, Richard implemented a suggestion from a print shop worker to consolidate the steps and software tools involved in a customer print job.

Using Six Sigma discipline, Richard and his team created an standardized workflow and single user interface.

To assure worker acceptance, a cross-section of workers was involved in the design and deployment of the system.

The results were impressive: doubling the number of supported file types, tripling workflow compliance and a 50% increase in the speed of job completion.
